DESIGN - BIANCA
Oyster satin and corded lace Vintage 1920's style dress. Drop-waisted with corded lace applique panels around the skirt and appliqued silk, lace and feather trim. Ankle length at the front with a slight train. Pearl and crystal beading on bodice front. Halter neck with pearl button fastening at the neck. Side zip fastening to bodice. Pictured with matching head-dress and champagne silk tulle veil.
Bias-cut,mink satin gives a pearl-like finish to this 1930's inspired figure skimming gown. Hand appliqued lace and hand-painted roses make this design completely unique. Fabric covered button and loop fastening down the back provides the finishing touch.
These unique dresses are designed to provide inspiration. Brides may wish to adjust styling, fabric and embellishment details to suit their needs, tastes and budget. Each gown from this collection is made-to-measure.
This dress is a, simple, Princess-line dress, made here in pure silk dupion with an overlay of patchworked vintage and vintage-inspired laces. This is a real labour of love and is absolutely stunning!. The darker deep-nude/pale coffee -coloured silk means that the detail of the beautiful laces and the exquisite workmanship of this gown are clearly visible. Pearl button and loop fastening finishes off the back of this elegant style.
Optional extras are available such as this amazing, detachable one-sided strap, made using silk chiffon, georgette and laces that match those of the gown.
Or it could be worn with a simple feather stole. >>>>
Elegant and practical, I call this next design my 'Beach- dress'. Whilst it uses stunning heavily corded Vintage Lace for the collar and embellishment, it is made from a fabric which is easily laundered. A very flattering style. It has vintage diamante straps, button and loop fastening and a detachable silk chiffon 'train' starting at the neckline - An ideal substitute for a traditional veil.
There are several components to this amazing Edwardian inspired gown. (below)
The dress is a simple pleated silk-chiffon, empire-line bodice, with a silk- satin skirt and slight train. Worn over this and fastening just under the bust, is a detachable patchwork lace 'coat' with train. The dress is embellished with hand-worked chiffon and vintage-lace flowers .
'Hope' is a tea-length version of a dress (below) that could also be made full-length. Using lovely corded champagne-coloured lace over a matching pure silk dupion base with silk-chiffon overlay. Matching corded lace motifs are appliqued by hand all around the base of the chiffon layer. Worn here with a full petticoat.
The exquisite hand-worked bodice of this dress means that the lace is carefully manipulated, using overlapping /applique technique rather than 'seams'. The full beauty of the lace is highlighted and preserved. Side zip fastening.

The Couture Process
I have a stunning range of vintage fabrics and trimmings as well as access to a complete range of modern plains and gorgeous silks, embroideries and laces. I will work with you to realise the dress of your dreams for your special day - designed and made to fit you perfectly.
- After an original consultation, I produce drawings of the agreed design and fabric swatches from which you may choose.
- Once you have agreed the costing and design, a 'toile'is made for your first fitting. (It is important to have your lingerie for this early stage as it will affect your shape)
- Once the basic style and fit are perfected the dress is cut in the actual fabrics and adjustments made at further fittings as required.
- Finishing touches, including petticoats, hem and final embellishments are made before final fitting and collection of the finished dress.
Consultations and fittings in the comfort of your own home (please enquire) or at my studio (Taunton) by appointment.
